Does polygamy embrace freedom? Utah Attorney General’s office investigated Warren Jeff’s for wanting disobedient teenager Vanessa Rohback sacrificed in a religious ritual called “blood atonement”. Jiffs professed that Vanessa’s soul could be saved from eternal hell only if her blood were spilled. Vanessa had a boyfriend of her own choosing instead of marrying the man Warren Jiffs had chosen for her.
Former FLDS member Robert Richter reported to the Phoenix New Times that Warren Jeffs had reportedly alluded to “blood atonement” in church sermons. Under the church doctrine of blood atonement, certain sins can only be atoned for by the sinner’s death.
I was born in polygamy. My mother was an Allred (AUB); I grew up on sermons of blood atonement. My father was an independent FLDS, who said “God killed Rachael Jessup for leaving him, so he wouldn’t have to.
Threats of blood atonement are taken seriously in the FLDS. Ervil LeBaron, Dan Lafferty and Parley Dutson were sociopath polygamists exercising their “religious right” to destroy those whom they could not control.
CBS News Jan.15, 2003 reported on the polygamist community in Bountiful British Columbia, headed by Winston Blackmore. His whose first wife, Jane claims daughters in Bountiful are getting “married” and having babies as early as 14 and 15. Jane says her Winston Blackmore has 26 wives and some 80 children. The men,(who head) make the decisions and demand women be demure, unobtrusive and obedient. Men rule. Women are never to question their power over them.
Carolyn Jessup was not free to leave the FLDS polygamist community. She was raped and beaten by her polygamist husband, Merrill Jessup. Carolyn states, “Women are not free to leave of their own free will, when women and children are beaten, molested and raped on a daily basis, when they are denied food and sustenance, that’s not freedom of religion, that’s slavery.
The beating of Mary Ann Kingston, was only the tip of the iceberg submerging violence and victimization of women in polygamy. In Eldorado Texas polygamist girls married much older men as soon as they reached puberty and boys were groomed to perpetuate the cycle. Female minors are conditioned to accept sexual activity with adult males and required to produce children.

Under the rule of FLDS leader Warren Jeff’s, in many polygamist communities, “ For young men to get a wife required being useful, pliant and ready to serve and forwarding entire pay checks in addition to regular tithe, to church coffers” said Pamela Black, who lives in Hildale, Utah, across the street from Colorado City, Colo. Maybe “his holiness” would be kind enough to put the suitors name on a list to get his 1st, 2nd or 3rd wife. I know of a man who never got a wife because he just didn’t have the right last name”, Black recalls.
Men’s wives and children were considered church property and re assigned to other men in town.

Polygamy attracts and creates narcissist men who soon become self imagined Gods through parasitic behavior. The pattern of the mentality is a disorder of its own which escalates abuse of human rights in all religious forms of polygamy.

Alistah Kaishkochav, polygamist guru and child molester, drew his imagined justification from;” from Jewish, Muslim and Mormon ideas.
Those who want to make polygamy legal for, would still be subordinating women, unless the husband would enjoy his wives taking young lovers with the same loving, sweet acceptance he expects them to accept his infidelity. If he can’t take what he dishes out, don’t expect anyone else to. Infidelity is emotional abuse, not a “right.”
Polygamy is mental enslavement through fear of retaliation. It can’t pass the test of freedom, religious or other wise.
